God's Grace In Action 2008 Annual Report

Thank you for all you do to help those in need around your church and community. Special thank to our GGIA board!

We started the year with a balance of $2236.11 in the general account and took in an additional $3701.00 in 2008. Most money coming in is from the supporting churches for the purpose of maintaining and upgrading the web site. There was $810.00 of the monies donated for the Back-to-school Backpack ministry and $810.00 was spent for that purpose. We decided to make some much needed upgrades to the web site, especially in the sensitive client data information area, a work in progress and continuing in 2009 We have invested $0.00 this year to the web upgrades and $98.45 for website maintenance. We have $3355.80 in our money market accounts set up with different maturity lengths to gain better interest and keep a certain amount of funds liquid for web upgrades as we go. An interest of $159.99 accrued in 2008. We have a $500 scholarship opportunity for high school seniors who have offered time and service to community, church, outreach and/or missions, the first was to be paid out in May of 2008. You can get more information by going back to the home page and clicking on the Scholarship button. Please see each individual ministry page for reports on their accomplishments in 2008 and goals set for 2008. We are a volunteer based ministry and no money has gone out for wages, salary or compensation.

Looking ahead to 2009

Many hours have gone in to finding a glitch in the programming that made 2008 a challenge for us. We have now found a couple men who are learning the programming and will be able to make the upgrades we have been waiting for. Once complete we will be holding training sessions with those who are authorized to use it in each church, pastors and secretaries as well. We will be approaching churches within our zip codes who are not yet members of GGIA with the opportunity to join. We plan to have communication flowing between the churches to better service the needy and each other. We will soon have a way to communicate and receive information such as an available couch, or need for a bed. Thank you for your patience and your prayers as we work toward our goals. Do you have time and ideas to contribute? We are looking to grow and welcome new ideas and people!

God's richest blessings to you and yours,

Dianna Hinderlie, President
